Drop and Rake
In Response To: More newbie questions ()

In poker, a rake is a percentage of the pot (usually capped) that the house takes for each hand dealt. The drop chip is usually the maximum rake for a hand, to make it easier for the dealer to take out the rake. In other words, rather than take out four $1 chips, they exchange them for a $4 chip and only 1 chip goes in the rake container.

I hope that made sense. vbg
