Salute to Greg grin

Here’s my Greg Susong story.

I was collecting chips since my high school days when Atlantic City first opened their casinos, but it wasn’t until 2003 that I stumbled across TheChipBoard.

I had run across an unusual chip when playing poker at the Biloxi Grand Casino in Mississippi and was curious to know what its value was. I e-mailed Greg with a scan. He indicated that he’d like to trade for the error chip and pointed me to his Trade List.

Greg never tipped his hand as to what the chip’s value might be. I thought it might be worth around $100. So, using the values Greg listed I selected the 18 chips below which he valued at $103.

I e-mailed Greg the list and he readily agreed to the trade. Still curious I asked Greg what he assessed the chip’s value to be. He said he thought $100 was about right. I sent him that chip on July 3rd of 2003 and the next week I received my first trade in the mail. He even posted that error chip in TheChipGuide where it’s listed as CG13612. Very cool.

That was a great introduction to TheChipBoard and Greg’s ChipGuide. He was one of the rare good one. He’ll be missed.
