I used to work at Arlington Park
In Response To: Re: Fake AP Chip? ()

After it burned down in 85 or 86 I can't remember which. I got a job there in the summer to help rebuild it. I rode my bike there (I lived about 2 miles away) and was a grunt for the construction workers... carry this, dump that, clean this, get me lunch. :-)

This was during the re-build so nothing was open to the public. After college I used to go with friends once or twice a year there and there never was a poker room of any sorts there. There was a time when the owner was demanding that he be able to have slots there since he claimed the riverboats in the area (Elgin, Joilet) were killing his business. I wonder if this could have been a sort of promotional piece from that time? They denied him that option and he scaled back the season and did a few other things to try and make up for the lack of customers. The last time I was there was probably 2002, as I moved out of Arlington Heights in 2003.

Great chip!
