Andy - Las Vegas
Dear Chip Friends from the Susongs,
You guys are the best! I don't have the words to tell you of our appreciation for the outpouring of love you've given to Greg and us. Lauren and I sat down Friday night reading the very long thread of comments as we tried to make sense in our new world. I pointed his folks and sis to the chipboard so they could read about all of you and they're equally grateful. I'm blessed with having married a wonderful man who came from a truly wonderful family.
Greg couldn't wait to show me the pics upon his return from convention each year. He relished sharing the experience with me, pointing out the different ones in the photos and telling me what was going on at the time. He loved you all, rest assured.
Sarah Bedo, Greg was as proud of you as our daughter, Lauren. He was so moved by all your kindnesses and especially the fundraising done in his name. You're a very special woman in his eyes and our lives. God bless you for all the happiness you brought to him.
Ron, thank you for posting the short obit to the board. There's a correction that needs to be made by the funeral home, of which they've been notified, and most of you have probably picked up on. Visitation may be made from 9 to 5 on Monday, the 12th, not the fifth as they had originally written. We have yet to compose the final obit.
In short, here's the agenda for the next few days:
Monday, visitation from 9-5 at Day Funeral Home here in Wellington. www.dayfuneralhome.info
Monday, from 7pm -?, vigil and rosary at St. Anthony/St. Rose Catholic Church, 210 North B Street, Wellington. www.sutv.com/~stanthonychurch
At the vigil there will be opportunity to hear Scripture and share memories of Greg, then praying of the rosary will follow for those who would like to stay
Tuesday, Funeral Mass at 10 am at St. Anthony/St. Rose Catholic Church
11 am lunch served at the Parish Hall at the church
About 1pm, leave for the burial site at the cemetery at Braman, Oklahoma, which is about 20 miles south of Wellington.
2pm is the designated time for the graveside service, then we return to Wellington
The funeral home director noted we'd have some spare time between lunch and when we leave for the cemetery, which I invite all who're coming to share memories or to roast Greg. No one would laugh harder than him! And, truth be told, our memories are pleasant ones worth sharing.
Greg's family is coming this evening about 4pm CST. If any of you are in the area and would like to stop to visit, please know you're welcome in our home any time.
Thank you again to each and every one who've supported us throughout Greg's cancer illness, surgery, recovery, and now this. Some tell me they feel their words are so little, but rest assured every word, down to the last letter, is comforting beyond measure. Our love to you all and my prayer that the Lord comforts you too.
Love, Carol, Lauren, and Robert
