Re: Great Story Bob...
In Response To: Great Story Bob... ()

I never took a $1000 jeton home. In hindsight, I would have kept at least one of every jeton used on that table. As much as I played it, I had multiples of every one of them from the $1000 down, sometimes sitting in stacks in from of me. Nobody was more blindsided than I was when that table was pulled from the casino floor. There was no warning. One day it was there and the next day it was gone. Had I known the game was going to go "poof", I would have kept many more of the jetons...

An aside, most of the dealers at other table games at the Paris didn't know the jetons were live chips that could be used to buy into other games. Several times I used $100 jetons to buy into a blackjack game, and every time the dealer told me I couldn't use "those chips" there. I knew I could, and so did the pit critter behind the table. He or she would tell the dealer to color me up, and put the jetons in the drop box. The Paris was pretty protective concerning all of the jetons. They didn't want them walking.
