You're right, Todd, they're milking it. The way they're doing this they're certainly maximizing their income on these. They'll eventually run out of uneducated buyers and the prices will plummet. Then maybe they'll establish realistic prices for their chips and hold them.
But great chips for a home game! I remember Anthony Valvo posted pictures of racks and racks of Horseshoe chips that he had (I assume for a home game). He had about 1,300 of the $25's alone.
