1) A member must have completed 3 years of membership before they are able to apply for Life membership. Many of those over 3 years are already Life members.
2) With the new rates established based on age, the value of this membership could be as much as $600 or more. At $5 a ticket we would have to sell 120 tickets just to break even. Do we think there would be anywhere that many tickets sold?
3) Some one would have to sell tickets, take the money, check that all who purchase tickets meet the criteria for Life membership, and manage the whole thing. That will require some effort and with very little real benefit to the club unless we can raise more than the $600.
Like I said, its not a bad idea and something I am sure the rest of the BOD will discuss, but I wanted to point out its not as easy as it seems.
