The casinos are both called Red Shores - Red Shores at Charlottetown and Red Shores at Summerside. The Charlottetown casino's name changed less than a month ago. When the name changed, the chips did also. The old rack, featuring the harness racing driver and sulty caricature, is now obsolete and the cage will not sell any. The new chips are Bud Jones chips with the denom in yellow. There is no horse racing theme or location on the chips...merely the name Red Shores repeated 3 times in a circle around the denom. Both sides of the chips are identical.
The only game requiring chips is poker. There is no BJ, craps, roulette, etc.
The casino in Summerside also has 2 poker tables. This may or may not be the poker room of the future. I hope not. This poker room uses no dealers, no chips, and no cards. Each player has an individual screen. It is similar to playing online, except all players are physically at the same table. The technology is from a company called Poker Pro. You are given a card with a unique series of numbers. You then put money on your card by taking cash or a debit card to the cashier. If you lose your card or forget your 4 digit pin, your money is gone.
If you would like to add any Red Shores chips to your collection, they are priced at:
$1 chip = $5
$5 chip = $9
$25 chip = $35
I realize these prices are a bit higher than normal for a current chip. This is due to the toll of $42.50 which I'll have to pay when I leave PEI. I will need all chip requests by Friday at 9am eastern time.
Please e-mail me at pachipper@aol.com. I'll confirm your request and the total price including P&H. Thanks !!
