Calm down. Take a deep breath.
If you mean the one chip pictured below then have a closer look. It's a tournament chip, not a $25 house chip. The cheapest WSOP tourney is $1,500 (aside from the senior's event which I can't enter), so they're not cheap (or easy) to come by. I've sold a few on eBay, I'm sure Club members have purchased some, and they bid whatever they think is a fair price. I think the final bid range has been between $40 and $110. If it's some other chip then perhaps I assessed its value at $50. If it sold, great. If not, I drop the asking price. No big deal. I'm not a chip dealer who buys entire collections or large lots just to profit. I pick up chips from casinos I've been to and trade or sell the extras. Isn't that what most collectors do? Maybe I'm mistaken. Ok, so much for chips and asking prices.
Collecting personal chips is perfectly fine. I see you also collect train chips. Fine too. I just don't happen to collect either. No big deal. Who knows why people collect the things they do anyway - coins, stamps, rubber bands, beer cans, record albums, casino chips, etc. Whatever makes you happy. For us it just happens to be casino chips.
I'm glad you're happy as a CC>CC member. By the way, you can type the & symbol by typing the following without spaces & a m p ;. I'm not bad mouthing the Club, I'm just saying that I didn't see any benefit in joining. Many Club members trade on TheChipBoard and I trade with many of these folks. If you choose to only trade or make purchases from Club members that's fine too. To each his own.
I’m not sure what set you off. I’m guessing it wasn’t just the WSOP chip for sale, but like you it may be all the stress and worry you've been through lately with my wife. Anyway, enjoy the hobby and you have a great night too.
