Casinos used to look pretty cool with their own proprietary slot glass. Then something happened in the industry in the mid 80's, slot games started showing up with branded themes. Universal (no longer around) started this, and IGT perfected it with games like Double Diamond, Red White and Blue, and so on. Before you knew it the look of the slot floor changed. Now add the rapidly changing video gaming where a theme is lucky to make it past 6 months still generated decent revenue.

Slot Glass will slowly be going to the wayside with the advent of a server based gaming platform.
