Re: Now You Know - The Rest Of The Story

Info on Peterson came from another club member

Mason record card:
Officers Open Mess - Goose Air Base - Attn: Capt. Otto H. Peterson, Capt, USAF - APO 677 New York NY - 1000 lavender $1 - 500 white 50¢ - 250 green 25¢ - 250 Orange 10¢

Comment from Herz:
No date on card but this would have to be after the Air Force was formed after the war (previously Army Air Corps) Best guess is 1950's.
It is still an important air base.

Club member:
Goose Bay Air Force Base - Labrador - SAC base. The base was also used by the Royal Air Force (R.A.F.) and the Royal Canadian Air Force (R.C.A.F.). The radar station at Goose Bay was an integral part of ... strategic-air-command
Peterson was a famous WWII pilot. French Canadian stationed in the UK in 1944/45.
Joined USAF on its after war formation.
