How many sellers to you think pay the premium to get their matchbooks delivered by Parcel Post, which is the only way to ship by ground using USPS? My quote was for a 3 ounce package.

Safety matches are very safe to ship. Sulphur ignition temp is almost 500 degrees F. If you keep the match from rubbing a striker (which contains an oxidizer), it's nearly impossible to ignite a safety match.

By the way, the last time I checked, it was legal to ship a full caddy of 50 books by air; just not loose matchbooks. Don't ask me why!
