I am over 60 years old and not resigned to dieing just yet. I worked all my life to get to where I am today and I dont think that any bureaucrate has the right or the expertise to tell me when my life should end.This country has the highest life expectency of any other country in the world. More people travel from all over the world to seek out this country when in need of special care or surgery. We are revered by other countries for our quality of research and developement in medicine as well as other fields of science. Just because our president says its broke and needs to be fixed doesnt make it so. There are 47 million not covered by insurance and 120 million covered by their own personal health insurance. Why change the majority to insure a minority. They can surely come up with a couple hundred billion and set up something for these unfortunate people and not change the rest of us.
I am not fooled regarding how this will be paid for either."Deficit Neutral" is a term that sounds good but that is all. How does one pickup 47 million people's healthcare and remain "deficit neutral"? Tax the wealthy. Sounds good except most wealthy people out there own companies, control companies or are professionals. So tax them. Its common knowledge that rich people hire accountants and tax lawyers to find ways to shelter their money. And if for some reason they do take a heavy tax hit they simply pass it on to their customers, clients or patients blaming the government for the increase. And in some cases, add a little more to the cost to increase their own profits and continue to blame the government, and guess who's stuck with the bill?
IMHO this is not about helping the poor and unfortunate. If it were, there would have been money provided to them just like they bailed out the banks, auto industry and insurance companies.This is about something bigger and deeper.I'll let you draw your own conclusions as I have mine.
