While nearly all of us are still in disbelief over the release of the convicted plane bomber by Scottish authorities, we have done the same thing. Most of you are to young to remember the Massacre at Malmedy (during WWII battle of the Buldge)where German troops murdered 88 American prisoners in cold blood. In 1946 70 German soldiers were found guilty and 43 were to hang. Justice?? not so fast. This case came under review by our own US Senate and Sen. Joe McCarthy (yes, the same Joe McCarthy that conducted the 50s communist witch hunts) defended the convicted germans and managed to "fix" it so that not one german soldier was executed and nearly all had their prison sentences reduced or ended. So there is no assurance of justice in any country. Given enough time (after the initial shock wears off) people just stop caring. Wish I could find humor in any of this but, I can't.
