I grew up poor and by social standards, I still am.
I didn't go to college. As a matter of fact, I was actually BANNED from my high school!
I had kids early in life.
For a while I needed the help of the government for food stamps and medical assistance as I could not support my large family at such a young (stupid) age and about the only organizing I did was in the toilet.
BUT...
While things have been tough for me, I've managed to raise my children believing in God.
I'm proud to say two of my oldest are attending college - my oldest working on his PhD in Economics, my second oldest is working on her Masters in Aerospace Engineering. Three others are in high school, all of which are excelling in sports and academia and my youngest entering into 8th grade with 1 district championship for football under his belt already!
I'm not receiving assistance with food stamps.
I have my OWN insurance for ALL my kids.
Even though I was laid off a couple of months ago, I have managed to keep myself working and have not applied, nor do I want to, for any assistance. My kids have picked up on what I'm doing and have now begun to hustle up their own work. They are saving some and spending a little on things they need/want.
Lately, as in the past, I've been very active in organizing, albeit of the fecal nature. But my fecal consolidation should not be frowned upon. Much can be learned and developed from organizing.
Heck, I think I could be president! It's believable!, Right?
