I won't bore everyone with all of the details... but the place was awesome. We saw tons of things we had never seen before inlcuding monkeys, crocodiles, and a baby octopus all in the wild... much different than seeing them in the zoo !!! The service was top notch and the drinks at the swim-up bar in the private pool tasted great. I highly recommend going if you get the chance.
On to the important stuff... THE CASINO.
The casino was nothing much to write home about. A small building on the backside of the property, but right by the nightclub... how convenient!
It was open all day, but only the 40+ slots were available to play during the daytime. The table games didn't start until either 8 or 9pm and went until 2am every day. The tables consisted of the following:
1 Roulette table - complete with a makeshift computer screen displaying the previous numbers [looked a little trashy]
1 Craps table
1 Caribbean Stud table
4 Rummy tables - these were the Caribbeans version of Blackjack, but played a tad bit differently
The Roulette table had generic PAULSON made "Roulette A" chips in play. There were 6 different colors [yellow, pink, orange, green, blue, and purple]. I would have tried to get a couple, but again, they were the generic chips, and all of them were so worn that most of the hotstamps on both sides of the chips were completely rubbed off.
The other tables were using standard PAULSON chips. Denominations included 2 different $1 chips [a $1 and a 100¢ chip], a $5 chip, $25 chips, and $100 chips. There were NO chips in new condition anywhere on the premises. I went to the "cashier" [read: a girl sitting behind a desk with a floor safe] and in my best broken Spanish tried to ask her for "New" chips... but no luck. She did open up the safe and pulled all of the racks out and they were all as used as the ones that were in play on the tables.
The only table that used the $1 chip in gaming action was the Craps table. They had them on the Rummy tables, but only for dealer tips/play and drink tips. When the dealers accumulated 5 of them, they would put the 5 x $1 chips back into the rack after banging them 3 or 4 times on the metal edge, exchanged them for a $5, and then everyone clapped and chanted... it was kind of weird !!! The 100¢ chips were few and far between. I only saw about 20 of them in the entire casino. I think they must be older [they were much more worn] and being phased out with the other $1 chips that appeared to be "newer" but still had table wear. Overall, just a small room, with little to do, and old chips.
I did pick up a few... I have the following available:
1 - $1 chip [light blue]
6 - 100¢ chips [darker blue]
3 - $5 chips
The $1 chip is $6 shipped.
The 100¢ chips are $5 shipped
The $5 chips are $9 shipped.

The $1 chip is the only 1 I could get. Again there were less than 20 in the entire casino.
I did see one girl cash out on her slot machine for about $90 ahead of where she started, but other than that, it was a money pit for the house. Everyone else I saw there, or talked to, lost money in the casino... including myself.
