You find many of the decks in sealed boxes. My theory is that the GN did at one time use these on their tables, then switched cards and the remainder were sold off. Many of the older Fremont Street clubs had logo'd cards from the mid 60's using a solid type back (i.e Fremont and Four Queens).
In the 70's up until Steve Wynn built a hotel and rebranded the GN; the GN used Bee Diamond Backs with logo. In the late 70's (1978) Steve Wynn opened a much needed hotel at the Golden Nugget and called it Golden Nugget Gambling Hall and Rooming House this was the first theme of Steve Wynn.
Below are cards from the 80's the first uses the Gambling Hall and Rooming House name; the gold in the ink on these cards flake off, so if you rub these cards you get gold flakes. The second card the Golden Nugget is rebranded Hotel and Casino; the ink was also changed and does not flake off.
