I Was Smart Enough to ...
When I had the yen to get some Ultra Town Tavern chips I drove up to the place on a Saturday afternoon after the convention was over and before my return flight home. I pulled up and had a parking spot right out front, just a couple of steps from the front door. But looking around I noticed two groups of gentlemen on the streets. Cars would approach one group, a conversation would ensue, then a handshake and perhaps an exchange hidden in the handshake and the car was on its way. The other group was just drinking from bottles in brown paper bags. Taking note of what was happening outside, I couldn't imagine what was going on inside behind closed doors. So I decided that even though $1 chips from this place were selling for $10 each to collectors, it was not in my best health interests to go inside. So off I went, chip-less, but healthy.
