Turning Stone Casino - Verona, NY

This was the second casino stop on my recent trip.

I stayed at "The Lodge" section of the resort. Very nice. There were a couple of odd things about the place. (1) The entire resort is alcohol free. No drinks in the casino, restaurants or golf course. The only place that serves alcohol is the nightclub - but that does not open until 8pm (apparently they were able to get a cafe license). The casino has been trying to get a liquor license for over 10 years. The Turning Stone is an Indian casino and there have been lawsuits through the years between the casino and NY State. (2) None of the slot/poker machines accept cash. You need to get a "slot card" and then take it to one of the kiosks on the floor. Put in the card and then stick in the cash you want to add to the card. Stick the "charged" card into the machine of choice and you are good to go. If you want to cash out, you take your card to a cashier.
