Michael, very interesting. A question for you...
In Response To: Las Vegas Country Club ()

Michael,

Being a frequent visitor to Las Vegas and having been to many of the antique stores (and thrift stores) I come across these decks every once in a while and always assumed (I know that that can be a bad thing) that these decks were from a game room at the Club, and seeing how they are casino quality (Bee I believe) I figured that they might have offered some poker play for the men, or perhaps rummy. It never ocurred to me that there could have been a female tie to the existence of the decks.

However, while the info you have extracted does point to the existence of a women's card room, do you know of anything that actually attributes these decks to that activity? (This is also an open question to others.)

BTW-Thanks for these CPCOTD posts! I seem to accumulate decks as I seek out other casino collectibles. While I don't have a ton of decks, I've added Volumes 1 and 2 of the O'Neal/Steffner playing card guides to my reference library because I like to see the different back designs from the various casinos over the years. I see your Project as an extension of my ability to see more back designs. So thanks again for your efforts!

Jim
