Ramada wanted to get in on the AC boom and started building the property prior to the purchase of the Tropicana in Las Vegas. The property was completed after the purchase of the Tropicana and named the Tropicana. Just my take.

As for Godfathers Pizza, that is very clever use by a franchisee. The chain is way past its heyday of the 1980's. Godfathers was founded in Omaha, NE by Willie Theisen, no mafia ties. Sold off to Pillsbury and then eventually spun off on it's own again. The national HQ is about 1-1/2 miles from my house. By far my favorite pizza joint name was Carl Marx Pizza in Moscow, Idaho.
