Washington state casino law question

Was recently at Lucky Eagle casino at Rochester, Wa, and noticed now that cash can be inserted directly into the slot machines. Has there been a major change in Washington state law within the past 1 year? Prior to this you had to buy a card and insert that card into the slot machine the card was coded to predetermine the outcome, win/loss. That made it similar to a lottery draw. The irony of that was was that at one casino, the cashier showed us that if you knew how to read the printed code,((which was possible), you could tell in advance what the outcome of your slot pull would be. I got no response about this from the Washington state gaming commission, so will try here
