The sandwich shop would have had a crap game about 1971 or 72, ran by Cy Ciotti out of Erie, PA.
They had a pay phone you could put a hairpin in the speaker part, scratch it on the lock in the phone, and get a dial tone, call operator, give her a long distance number, she would say $1.50 or so, you drop in the change, and it would drop thru to the coin return, and connect your call. One of Cy's neat little tricks.
