Thunderbird / Red Lion Inns - born in Spokane, WA. Now the Red Lion Hotel Corporation after being in the hands of quite a few owners. Red Lion started using the lion face logo in the late 1970's (1978 or 1979). Prior to that they a red lion (medieval design) on standing hind legs. So my guess is that the date is off on the chip with the lion face logo.
