Both locations used the same lion head logo. Ok, here is the oddity: The yellow $1.00 chips, with an issue date of 1972 are listed as being used at the Red Lion Inn, not the Red Lion Motor Inn. These chips have a listed issue date of 1972, which just happens to be the same date the red Lion Motor Inn opened.
Listed chips for the Motor Inn are only a green CIC $5.00 chip and a set of roulettes, no $1.00 chips. One the other hand, there was a 1982 blue $1.00 issue for the Red Lion Casino.
I doubt that the chips were ordered, made and delivered to the Motor Inn, yet never used until the opening of the 1982 Red Lion Casino because, as I stated earlier, there was a 1982 1.00 issued, and yet nothing of the Motor Inn.
Logic would dictate that the chips were used at the Motor Inn. What do you all think? Perhaps there is a chipboard reader that has visited the Red Lion Motor Inn.
