I have a pit bull, old in dog years, who has NEVER shown aggression to anyone. Yes he barks and gets riled by opossums and skunks but has never shown aggression to other dogs or people.

I think the owners of any dogs like pit bulls or mastiffs should qualify in training and behavioral courses before being allowed to even walk their dogs in public. Aside from the courses mentioned, I have also taken extra precautions to keep my dog from digging by placing a hot wire around my fence line. Not because I fear he'll attack but because of the breed he happens to be. We, as owners, need to held accountable for our pets action while they are in our care.

I personally have been attacked and bitten by many breeds of dogs (because of my line of work) and can honestly say if a pit bull, even my own, bit me or anyone, I would put him down myself. Most of my bites, by the way, were by much smaller breeds. I had a few close calls with a Rotty and a MEAN German Shepard.

I'll be praying for your wife, Ann and Hannah as well for a complete healing. You'll be included as well because I don't know if I could keep it together the way you have.
