Re: Michael Siskin, can you help with info on thes

Back in early June, I received an inquiry from Don Lueders about the "CH" chips, along with scans simlar to Judy's scans. I also received another inquiry about six months earlier about the same "CH" rope or cord mold chips. Below is a copy of my email response to Don Lueders.

"The CH $1 chip I've been told is not a Puerto Rico chip ... or at least has not been authoritively attributed to Puerto Rico to my knowledge. I know that it's published in George Davis/Al Rollins 2002 catalog as being from Caribe Hilton, but there is a question in my mind as to the legitimacy of that claim. In fact, I have that chip in my personal collection, (see attached) but I have not attributed it to PR. Also note, there is no denomination on the chip. What are your thoughts?

I agree, the CH logo is very similar if not identical to the Caribe Hilton. Al Rollins had the same concern when I showed him my specimen at an ANA Convention in Florida. The Davis/Rollins catalog illustrates three chips that Judy has shown two and Don has one, plus mine; in addition to a 3rd color which leads me to believe they may have been roulettes. I would welcome any authoritive information/documentation regarding the authenticity of these rope mold chips being from Puerto Rico. I'm leaning towards publishing them in the next update of my PR catalog. Value, I would estimate at $50-$75 each.
