About five years ago, my daughter visited Las Vegas and I asked her to buy me several chips from every casino she visited. When she came back she only had five chips from the Venetian and three from the Tropicana. But she had also bought me a "very rare" chip from the Museum shop in the casino at a real cheap price of five bucks. It was bright green, a strange denomination so I looked for the reference, couldn't find it anywhere and thought rip off. But then when can you get a rare chip for only five dollars in Las Vegas.
Anyway as a sample piece of a brass core it's a great piece, and now I know the history - you're right, it makes it much more interesting.
