Hi Dave,

Both of the price guides are AWESOME...I wouldn't be without either one grin

James actually does list both versions of the chip in the 4th edition. The last chip listed on page 160 is $1, red, C&J, none, R-white, R-4 $15-$25-$40. The notes for that chip are at the top of page 161...part of what it says is (Orange "$1". Black name... ...Joe Wells being a part owner seems to be in most demand bringing top price plus).

The unique Joe Wells chip is listed further down the page, another chip is listed under it, then there's a note that says (Black "$1", with red names on reverse on above 8 listings).

Sometimes it can be confusing to read the guides...they try to give us the most information they can, in the least amount of space. Hopefully you aren't toooo disappointed.

In my early days I thought I bought a lavendar $500 Holiday International chip, which booked for (I think) a few hundred dollars at that time. Later I discovered that it was an "imitation", and wasn't "worth" so much. I bought it from an established dealer, and I'm sure he knew it was an "imitation" (which explains why he didn't have it priced in the hundreds...but I didn't know that then). Luckily I didn't pay a whole lot for it (long time ago, but I'd guess $50 max)...and I never bought from that dealer again. Ultimately it was probably a pretty cheap lesson for me. grin
