VERY NCR: Wireless router question.

I'm hoping one of you wireless gurus can help me...

I've been using a Linksys WRT160N wireless router for about a year with no problem until today. Today, my internet connection on my desktop computer, which is wired to the WRT160N which is wired to my cable modem, is mostly down, with intermittent connectivity--not enough to pull up a page, but enough for my PingPlotter software to show occasional returned signals. When I move the wire directly from the cable modem to the desktop, bypassing the WRT160N, the internet connection works fine. With the WRT160N back in the loop, I open a browser and type 192.168.1.1 in the address bar to get the admin page, I get "page not found". I also tried 192.168.2.1 with the same result.

Is it probably time to get a new modem, or am I missing something?
