We are planning a trip in September with Jerry Birl and while neither of us have ever been there it seems like all of the hotels in Deadwood are a lot more expensive than the ones in the nearby cities. Right now it looks like we may stay in Rapid city and use that as a base of operations for the time spent in the deadwood area.
