I love the Topaz Lodge. I always spend a night there to break up the drive back to the the Bay Area from Las Vegas. It's a great place with great scenery and run by great people. It is a great place for fishing and other outdoor types of activities.

Topaz Lake used to be known as Alkaline Lake. But since the name seemed to discourage tourism, they changed it. Anyhow, it is a highly recommended little property.

It is, indeed, located 19 miles south of Gardnerville on SR-395. And as indicated in a earlier post, it has a Gardnerville mailing address, although it is very much outside the town limits.
