I too have won Ebay auctions and bought chips from sellers on this board that were listed as NEW or UNUSED or worse MINT. In several instances the seller said he got the chips "from the cage" so they must be NEW. Never assume that a chip from the cage is NEW. Like Greg said use a magnifying glass to verify.
