Masanori was the very first Japanese player to make it to the big leagues, and I was trying to finish the set (before the age of ebay and internet easy-buys) with his card. Well, since Bruce Landau and I had been trading chips for many years, I asked him if he ever saw any baseball cards during his trips - and the next time he arrived in Reno, he brought me a few chips and then (the tease), just before he had to leave and fly down to Vegas, he said "Oh, Al, I've got one more thing for you - no charge," and he broke out the Murakami card, shook my hand, and headed off.
Good friend.
