Re: Casa Vegas question...

Jordy,

James is James Campiglia, one of the authors of "The Official U.S. Casino Chip Price Guide" (also known as C&W for Campiglia & Wells...Steve Wells is the other author). If you look for ebay auctions by the seller chipsbottles, I think he usually lists his email address in his auction descriptions.

TCR is "The Chip Rack". The new TCR is being published by Jay Sands, David Spragg and Len Cipkins...all of whom show up on The Chipboard (some more than others! vbg ) Jay posted in the "happy birthday Steve Bedo" thread, if you find his post it should contain his email address. David posts frequently, if he isn't out of town you should be able to find him, too. And, chances are pretty good that you've already received at least a few emails from chippers who would love to have one (or more) of your chips! vbg

TCR & C&W are the two widely accepted price guides, for Nevada chips, in the hobby. I quoted C&W because Jim Follis said that the Casa Vegas chips weren't listed in his older price guides. A new TCR just came out, but I don't have it yet (soon!). The 4th edition of the C&W guide came out earlier this year, that's the book I used.

As for chip conditions...
From worst to best...James doesn't give values for the lowest two conditions (Poor and Well Used).
Average (this is the lowest value listed in C&W): Slightly rounded edges, small nicks on edges, about half of the cross-hatching (the texture of the chip) has worn off, hot stamps (the gold printing on the chip) have dulled and are beginning to show wear and may be missing a small amount of foil.

SU-Slightly Used (the middle value in C&W): Slight signs of use, edge still crisp but slightly dulled, cross hatching showing slight signs of wear near edge of chip, few or no edge nicks, bold hot stamp, still retains luster in mold design (the triangles around the edge of your chip).

New (the highest value listed in C&W): Never used in games, absolutely no wear, no dings or nicks, no scratches.

Congratulations on having some awesome chips...old Vegas stuff is the best! grin

I'm not very good at "grading" chips, but this chip would probably be somewhere between Average and Slightly Used.
