I think I may be able to shed some light on the "checkered" past of these chips as well as on their earlier history. I have reason to believe that the chips I have are from the same original cache as those that were offered for sale a few years ago. The character who raised alarms by misrepresenting total numbers is no longer in the picture. He was selling them for my good friend M., who he also pulled some squirrelly stuff with. His name is mud with me.

M. has had these chips since 1973, when he found them, literally, in a house he aquired in the SF Bay Area. He has had them in a cigar box since then, with the exception of the sales from a few years back.

The inventory consists of 162 Casa Vegas @ $5, 21 Casa Vegas at $25, 162 Stork Club @ $5 and 3 Stork Club @ $25. I also have 95 $5 chips and 7 $20 chips marked BJG, like a monogram, which appear to be from the same era. I am figuring they were a private set.

I can't scan at the moment, but I will take digital photos and upload them later.
