A Day at the Races in South Korea, May 9, 2009

Korea Racing Authority is the body that runs horse racing in South Korea. Seoul Racecourse Park is located in the suburb of Gwacheon. It can accomodate 80,000 people and even has a subway station right outside. Exiting the subway station I came across a gentleman selling racing news. I wonder if he has all the racing info I need?

I learned there are two grandstands called Happyville & Luckyville. In Luckyville there is a Foreigner's Lounge on the 4th floor where English is available. I paid an admission fee equal to US 60ยข:

I then headed to the Foreigner's Lounge and obtained a pamphlet with instructions on betting on the horses. In English of course:

After signing a log book I was given a card with my reserved seat number:

How did I end up with scans of the card? It clearly states on the back "You must return this..."
Wellllllll, I forgot to return it. vbg

The seats were big and comfortable. It was air conditioned, smoke-free and had a fantastic view!

I had a lot of fun that day.
