News for those collecting the 'Gold Dust Sturgis Rally' chips... I stopped at the Gold Dust on Tuesday last week and asked if the 2009 chip was available yet.. The answer was that they are no longer producing them. 2008 was the last year. The reason was that they still had 30,000 chips in the vault dating from 1998 to 2008. I bought a complete set of eleven uncirculated chips dating back to 1998.

SO, if you are planning a trip to Deadwood, check at the cage as they still had a couple of uncirculated sets for $55. For some reason, the 2001 chips are now hard to get and that is why they can only make a couple more sets.

They are not readily available at the cage as you have to request them and they call upstairs to the main vault and someone will bring them down to you.
