Re:
$3 is still cheap, but I'm not sure...
The Deuce only goes as far south as the South Terminal (just south of the ol' Klondike site). From there you walk about 10 feet across the sidewalk to another bus that continues south from the terminal - bus #117. I have taken this route in the past when I did not feel like driving in LV and wanted to go to the Outlet Mall (GREAT place to pick up 1st quality jeans! Half the cost of what our local clothing store sells them for). The same bus drops off right in front of the South Point down the line ...it's a piece of cake.
BUT - if anyone wants to head to the strip, I'm sure you will find lots of folks with cars (we'll be driving into LV) so hitching a ride shouldn't be a problem!
I'm thinking that if you can catch a ride to the strip, but need a cab back...should be around $20, if you catch a taxi from a south-most casino like Mandalay Bay and don't get stuck in rush hour traffic.
I personally LOVE to ride the Deuce from Downtown allll the way south to the South Terminal at 5 or 6 am.....no one on the bus, you get a top level front seat and the most BEAUTIFUL tour of the strip's neon in all it's glory. Turn around and head north again - arriving at your choice of downtown coffee shops in time to enjoy a midnight to 6 am breakfast special.
For $7, it's the best tour in Las Vegas!
