From what I later learned regarding salvage ...

... (believe me; that was the first thing to come to mind) was that the area in which the ship went down was way too deep to even consider.

There were TV reports stating this as well when I informed them of the gold...

According to the Club Royale, the solid gold and silver chips were intended for high-rollers who frequented the casino on a daily bases.

Sadly, I was on board only one time... and as reported on this board by other chippers in the area; very few of them ever made it on board within that short sailing period.

Management informed me that they would continue to redeem chips... and later were kind enough to call me and hook me up with past visitors who wanted to cash in... I was running all over the map of Florida paying 2 to 3 times face for these things, but there were very few of them turning up grin Then, when the second operation came into being (CHIPCO products were used), a few girls in the cage would save whatever walked on board for me, but that event was short-lived. I tried a few wanted ads in the local papers and I had only one response.

I think there's a gold chip or two out there, somewhere. I recall that info being posted as well.

Lots of false information followed thru the years, but that's to be expected. The CHIPCO products were also being passed off at flea markets as salvaged chips for a few years...
