Re: CJ mold History & A story

Hard to tell from the scan but it does not look like a CJ to me.
CJ went out of business in Jan 1965.
H&C mold went to Paulson, through a deal with Bill Christy and Pat Sullivan. Pat Sullivan was the office manager of CJ LV office and is the cause of the Bill Christy-Bud Jones breakup.

Paulson had the non shiney hat mold made and continued selling the CJ shiney hat mold.
Paulson then had a new shiney hat mold made from their new non shiney hat mold. grin

Paulson actually sold more CJ mold chips than CJ ever dreamed of selling.
Not sure when the CJ mold went non usable. Molds wear out.
The shine comes from polished dies.

CJ color samples exist, I have a few. None in the color you are asking about.
The ones I have were sent to a friend in the mid 1960's for him to see what chips for an illegal game would look like after production.
Here is the kicker.
TK Speciality in Kansas City sent the CJ sample chips, to my friend in Tx in 1960's. TK had their own TK mold. Why were they selling CJ chips??????
