All we need to do now is to ...

... locate (or learn of) the other MARMOT colors.

Regarding your MOP question:

Most of the boxed monogrammed/plain MOP sets (remnants) I've seen have been American, from Cuba or South American countries... European monogrammed MOP chips/plaques usually cary serial numbers when from a casino/club; but not always the case. Also, even though the high-end monogrammed MOP sets that are cabinet/case contained, many are ornately adorned with an "ivory" plaque on the case lid depicting the same exact monogram as are on the pieces. Not always the case with Cuba and Argentina and so on.... Why not in MOP; I do not know... and I'm sure there are personal MOP sets from Europe, but it's hard enought to figure out casino material w/o going nuts learning family monograms. grin

The boxed [FL monogrammed] MOP set Robert E. and I purchased had a FL on the chest cover as well, but I don't remember what all it was, exctly.

The Jose Miguel Gomez MOP set from Cuba was in a metal case w/ monogram as well.

If I do get back into ivories in a big way, I shall also collect Woods; the solid wooden lawn balls affixed w/ monogrammed ivory resembling a poker chip (usually approx. 40 mm).

I saw a boxed MOP Dominoe set at a show in Atlanta, but the woman wanted way more than what I was willing to pay.

Again, usually the MOP personal sets are w/o serial numbers, but sometimes if "stock" uniface material was used, those pieces may have serial numbers. Lots of it comes down to learning the casino monograms (where a spelled-out name wasn't always needed on the pieces; especially if it was the only game in town grin ).

I know very little about this compared to the experts... and my above notes are strictly based on what I've seen in person or pictures.

Robert's site shows some American MOP set remnants.
