Both #1 & #2 are of the Monument to Victor Emanuel II. #1 is the side enterance to the back and I have never seen a better shot of the front. It is considered their monument to the unknown soldier. Changing of the guard does leave something to be desired. Have been to Rome 5 times and never even visually seen it as in your photo. Fantastic to say the least. Hope you got to Malta as with you photo ability it would be spectacular.
