This is the very last chip I ever purchased from my friend Jim Gellette. He told me and everyone else that he offered the chip too, he found only five. Generally, I would smile when he said “I only found five” but in this case I knew this to be true. For you see, I knew who he purchased these five chips from. Anyway, I miss Jim. He and I were to start putting together a book and memories of the “old days”. I once asked him what made old time Vegas so special? With that twinkle in his eye he said:
“When a couple went to a quality strip hotel restaurant like the House of Lords in the Sahara Hotel and Casino they were treated like VIP’s even though they were nobody. In the old days EVERYONE who visited this town were treated like royalty….that’s why they came back year after year after year.” Jim was right!
