Dale Seymour's book again on page 416 shows the same chip illustrated in a KERNAN Company, Chicago catalog dated 1901 and marketed as an, "Attractive Pocket Piece for Poker Players" with an individual price of 12 cents each!
When it rains it pours? You can go years without seeing one of these. I always wanted one so when I saw one on feebay naturally, I had to have it. Sure enough just a few weeks later I found this second one in Tombstone, all covered with greese and grime. ( it probably helped to preserve it) It cleaned up well as you can see and it is the better of the two chips.
The chip has 99% of the printing still in tact, very slight loss on the Y and on the K. There are absolutely no chips, cracks, or checking on the bowl. There are only two nicks, one over the H and the other at 3 o'clock and a couple small flea bites. The face is still shiney and the reverse shows only very minor surface wear. Truely an excelent example of this very scarce rarely seen Antique chip.
This will be a REVERSE AUCTION and this GEM from poker history is now being offered for the starting price of $160.00
