While I may have a short fuse today, this thread warrents a response from a guy that would love to have a couple of his votes back over the last few years. I would be inclined to remove my own top ten if people were changing their picks or loading the deck on any specific chips. I believe the original intent of Jim's project was to get favorites without regard to value or others opinions. I know that most of my own picks have no business in an overall top 100, but they are my picks and I am just stubborn enough to stick with them. I usually shy away from potentially controversal posts, but this could create what was good intentions into a list where collectors may not post their favorite "Hard Rock" or common chip because it is out there for all to see. I believe it would be great for the hobby to have some chips in a top 100 list that could be attainable by new collectors. In fact it may attract new collectors! If I may offer an option that would keep Jim's top 100 pick method working the same and represent the most valuable and sought after chips at the same time. With the knowledge and expertise of the membership, I would think it would be fairly easy to also have a top 10 list made up of the highest price "holy grail" chips purchased over the last few years. A couple immediately come to mind. Not an absolute perfect list, but one with a recent (5 yrs or less documented sale without the use of personal names of buyers or sellers) account of top value chips. That way we have Jim's much appreciated top 100 "chippers choice" list with a top 10 addendum that will make most of us drool. I will be willing to help with a seperate top ten if wanted. It will keep my mind off of spiralling budget problems!!
