Hello everyone. After flirting with the idea for a few years now, I've decided I want to start collecting chips. Over the last few days I have been trying to educate myself as much as I can on collecting and have spent most of the weekend looking at the thousands of chips that have been issued over the years from casinos new and old. I think I'm going to concentrate my efforts on $1 house chips from Las Vegas since it seems to be the simplest and cheapest way to get started by picking up some of the current chips in uncirculated condition. There's something about fractionals that attracts me to them as well. I have a question for those who are more in the know than I am. Are chips that are $0.50 and $2.50 that aren't snappers or LE being phased out in Vegas? I ask because if I decide to add fractionals to my collection it would be nice to know whether or not I will be able to look for new releases in the years to come. I would like to think that especially in some of the smaller casinos there is still a need for these chips in the future but perhaps I am wrong and will have to look to the past for them.
