Thanks. Sounds good to me... Here's an example of

... a plastic-type piece I got out of the CARO Collection (via eBay) from France. As you can see; the tape (sticker/label?) was removed prior to me getting the chip, but the residue remained on the piece which was well into the red engraved portion. Not knowing what to do; if anything, I came here to ask if anyone knew how to remove a tape residue, unknown... and I had all kinds of suggestions from using acetone to machine oil to tonic and gin with a splash of lemon. grin But my concern was what would any chemical or hash cleaning fluid do to the cherry-red pigment; would it dilute it and get all thinned-down and watery-like; being lost, forever, or would it not harm it at all. So, after thinking about it for a while I decided to just try and rub it away using my thumb (on a similar piece I used nail polish remover at the same time; worked fine)... and after several attempts within a few nites of wathching the evening news, the residue started to soften in a balling-up manner and before I knew it, it was all gone and the original pigment was unharmed. I don't know if the outcome would have been the same (with the pigment) if I used any other method since the pigment was unknown to me.
