At the time, I had never paid more then $25 for a chip and the thought of spending $60 on one chip scared me. I took the chip back to the guy and told him that it was worth $60, but I could only afford $40 and so $40 was my offer. His jaw nearly hit the floor. He said he would have been happy with $20 - but he still took the $40! He told everybody at work what a great guy I was for "over-paying" him for this chip that he had only paid a dollar for!
Today, the chip is worth about $500.
I'm not sure what the moral of the story is?!?!?
