I still watch the board from time to time and I have recently seen many posts relating to peoples top 10. I thought that I would share my top 10 with you as well. One thing that I was able to hold onto was my wife's cat chip collection. I thought that it would be fun to give her cat related chips to go along with everything else cat related in the house.
Here they go:
Fat Cat Toleks - Nice cat graphic. I never met this Bud, but I think that his ChipCo advertising chip is top notch.
Damon Roberts personal chip - This is my favorite personal chip. Damon is a very nice gentlemen, and was always fun to deal with. Not sure where he is now, but his personal chip is first rate.
Casino Conti (Cat playing with dice) - Nice image! It makes me recall the time that I brough home four live Reno Clarion $100 chips 14 years ago. I set them on the counter, and walked away. After some time, I heard noise coming from the kitchen. When I went to investigate, I found that my cat Murphy had carried a chip down from the counter in her teeth, and was batting it around on the floor. She was really close to knocking it under the refrigerator where it would have been lost for a long time.
Holiday Inn Gabarone, Botswana - Great looking C+J chip from the far side of the world. Also, Gabarone is the setting off one of my favorite book series, the #1 ladies detective agency. If you ever get the chance, take a little time to read the books.
Stockmen's $100 - Great looking logo, on a very nicely colored chip.
Doc & Eddie's $100 - Great looking logo, on a very nicely colored chip.
Blue / 3 pink cat chip - I believe that this chip started life as a $1.00 Mountain Club, from Tracy, CA. Bud Meyer had this laying around the house and added the cat stickers. He gave it to my wife as a gift. Nice looking chip, from a man who I am honored to count among my friends. One of the few people that I have ever met that everone says nice things about!
$5 _____ Cat A Go-Go - Seldom seen C+J chip from Vegas. Nice condition, with a nice hot stamp.
$1 Felix's, Lovelock, NV - Very Rare chip with a great looking picture of Felix the Cat. What more could a cat chip collector want?
10- Colony Sporting Club - Nice logo on a seldom seen chip. It reminds me of the time that Bud and I turned up thousands of chips from the Reno estate of the B.C. Wills distributor. We had many fun nights chasing down all of the chips and sorting through them.
I hope that the stories don't bore you.
Regards,
John
